Spotlight On: MAC All That Glitters

Finish: Veluxe Pearl / Beige with gold pearl

Known Dupes: Naked Lunch, Gift O’ Glamour pigment, UD Sidecar

All That Glitters is best described as a true champagne color and is an absolute DREAM to work with! Not only is it super pigmented, it applies to the lid so easily and with little effort. This has a similar highlight effect (like Pink Freeze) when placed on the middle of the lid, surrounded by darker colors. I’m amazed at the large amount of colors All That Glitters pairs so easily with; my most favorite combo would have to be #6, as it’s unexpected to be so beautiful with Lucky Green and Sumptuous Olive. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box with this one!

Look #1

MAC eyeshadows used:

  • Twinks (inner and outer third of lid; line lower lashline)
  • All That Glitters (middle of lid)
  • Quarry (crease)
  • Blackberry (deepen and define crease)
  • Vanilla (blend)

1, 3, 4, 6 are my fav’s LOL And I have most if not all the colors-Except All that Glitters LOL. I was told more mature eyelids should use Exp. Pink instead. Whats a close shade to Brown Down? Cause #3 is my all Time Favorite being that I have dark brown eyes.

      LOL! Too funny!
You could definitely use Expensive Pink in place of ATG – they are very similar (you can hardly see the difference between them in Look #7). A dupe for Brown Down would be Handwritten (MUCH easier to work with too!) – you could also try Mulch if you don’t have Handwritten. :)

i love all of these!! so beautiful :) i was resistant to purchasing this one because i know it’s a cult favorite and that kind of thing automatically turns me off, but of course i couldn’t help myself and boy is this one of the best eyeshadows in MAC’s lineup. i wish they could all be so pigmented and buttery

Same here, Joanna! I kept hearing how everyone was always gushing all over this one and it made me WANT to avoid it. LOL! I feel the same – wish they all had this awesome texture!

No worries, G! Successful people are busy people! Haha! :) Glad you liked the post! It helped me too – I’ve had ATG for forever and a day now and hardly used it before this post! Love ya back!

I love All That Glitters. I put off buying it fearing it would be too orange but I’ve had it for 3 or 4 years and just love it to bits. I’ve paired it with Mulch but never with Twinks so I’m going to give that look a try, for sure!

All that glitters is a great color and you can wear it with just about anything. I discovered it years ago when I went in to the MAC counter and asked for a shadow to go with a Christmas outfit. I knew I would be wearing red lipstick. All That Glitters was the one recommended. I’m so glad. I have dark brown eyes and love earth tones.

This is on my list for my next set of purchases! Do you have a good dupe for Twinks, especially in look #1?
Or is Twinks a one-of-a-kind color?
    Thank you Z!

      Hi Lisa!
Actually you could try Mulch in its place. Twinks is unique because it’s brown, red and purple in one, but Mulch has those same qualities. :) Hope that helps!

  10. Hi Zabrena,

I am building my Mac eyeshadow collection and I have
    All neutral colors

    ATG
    Exp pink
    Satin taupe
    Sable
    Mulch
    Saddle
    Sketch
I need two more colors which would go with all this colors

And also if you can give me some combinations with all this colors
I am Asian Indian mid 40s and wheatish complexion. Not fair but not dark also.

You seem to be an expert at Mac eyeshadows, I just love them.
Please help me with two more colors and also some combinations

    Thanks a bunch

I wore all that glitter along with cork, embark and vanilla and got soooo many compliments! This color is so beautiful in many combos as you’ve shown. You have me more ideas to try on myself as we have similar coloring. Thanks Z!
