Product Review: Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance

Product: TOO FACED EYESHADOW INSURANCE

Price: $9.00 – 15.00

Rating: ♡♡♡♡♡

After trying MANY different eyeshadow primers in my time, I can honestly say Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance meets all my expectations and then some! The product comes in an easy squeeze tube, is easy to apply and lasts a long time. To get the most out of this, I recommend washing your face (including eyelids) prior to application (it just helps it last longer and adhere better).

To apply, you only need a very, very small amount; I’d say about 1/4 the size of a pea. Dot it on until absorbed with your ring finger and wait for it to set for about 30 seconds. I usually apply translucent powder under my eyes while I’m waiting for it to set.

You will instantly see a difference in the way your eyeshadow applies and appears on your eyelids – it will be vibrant and ‘stick’ better. Higher end eyeshadows like MAC, NARS, etc. usually last for about 10 – 12 hours without creasing, and drugstore brands last for about 8 hours.

And if you only want to try it without committing to the full size, you can find sample tubes on eBay for around $9 (with shipping).

Below is MAC Steamy eyeshadow; the first is swatched without Too Faced as a primer and the second is swatched with Too Faced applied as a base.

  1. Hi Zabrena – i bought this and it is awesome and intensifies the shadow. I just had one question is it supposed to be only used on the eyelids ? or do you take it to the browbone ? Thanks

    • Hi Nicola!
      Stuff is awesome, isn’t it?!
Yes, I put it all over the eye area, from lashline to browbone. I also apply it under the eye if I’m going to wear eyeliner or line my lower lashline with eyeshadow. It helps it to last longer and stay put! :)

  2. Thanks so much for the advice, it really does make all the difference! I would never go without it now. I got a free sample of the candlelight one with mine i haven’t tried it yet though.
